eMISK/EPA Granted ESRI Presidential Award 2012

The Environment Public Authority in Kuwait (EPA) has been awarded the "Presidential Award for Executive Leadership" for its leading work on the establishment of the Environmental Monitoring Information System of Kuwait (eMISK), which facilitates the management of environmental data and information in the State of Kuwait. EPA was honored the Presidential Award by Mr. Jack Dangermond (the founder and president of the Environmental Systems Research Institute, ESRI, USA) during the ESRI International User Conference held in San Diego, California (23-27 July, 2012) . The Award comes as an acknowledgment from a leading international institute in recognition to the EPA's excellent achievements on the national, regional and international levels.

Geospatial data and geographic information system (GIS) technology play an important role in the success of government's agencies and authorities in the management of the environment, which is why ESRI presented its annual Presidential Award to the Environment Public Authority for its distinguished work on the establishment of the Environmental Monitoring Information System of Kuwait (eMISK). One of the main achievements of eMISK at EPA is the establishment of Kuwait Official Environmental Portal (Beatona.net), which provides easy access to all environmental data and information in the State of Kuwait using state-of-the-art GIS technologies and applications.
